Job Description: Programme Officer reporting to the Team Leader
Organization: ATTA Breastmilk Community
Position Summary:
The Programme Officer at ATTA Breastmilk Community is responsible for overseeing, designing, and managing a portfolio of programs that align with our mission to support breastfeeding and the provision of safe breast milk to all newborn babies. They will ensure that programs are executed effectively, offer strategic guidance, and facilitate collaboration among units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Design
- Collaborate with the Team Leader and heads to develop programmatic strategies that align with ATTA’s goals.
- Design and initiate programs that promote breastfeeding awareness, donation, education, and research.
- Program Management:
- Oversee the daily implementation of various programs to ensure they run smoothly and efficiently.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and performance of programs to ensure deliverables are on track.
- Coordinate with various units to ensure they have the necessary resources and support.
- Recommend adjustment of program strategies based on program strategies based on the assessment of outcomes and feedback.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary contact for external stakeholders related to programs, including partners, donors, and community leaders.
- Facilitate communication between program teams and the broader organization
- Budget Management
- Develop and oversee program budgets, ensuring that resources are spent prudently.
- Collaborate with the Treasurer and Finance officer to monitor program expenses and ensure financial sustainability.
- Team Leadership
- Mentor, guide, and provide direction to the program team members and others.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and commitment to ATTA’s mission.
- Evaluation and Reporting
- Establish evaluation criteria for programs to measure their effectiveness and impact.
- Produce regular reports on program status, challenges, achievements, and financial performance for the Board of Directors and stakeholders.
- Capacity Building & Training
- Identify gaps in skills or knowledge within the team and organize relevant training sessions.
- Stay updated with best practices in breastfeeding and donation to introduce innovative approaches and tools
- Fundraising
- Shall identify funding opportunities nationally and internationally.
- Lead the process of concept/proposal development in a collaborative manner.
- Any other assignment deemed necessary by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, preferably in the healthcare or nonprofit sector.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of leading cross-functional teams.
- Budget management experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge or passion for maternal and child health, or related areas is a plus.
